Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and assertive Procurement Manager to lead our purchasing function and ensure we are maximizing value, protecting company interests, and building high‑accountability vendor partnerships. This role requires someone who is strategic, detail‑oriented, and unafraid to push back when needed—someone who is collaborative and solution‑oriented with internal teams, but vigilant, skeptical, and tough‑minded when representing the company to outside vendors.
You’ll own our end‑to‑end procurement process, drive cost efficiency, and ensure we partner only with vendors who deliver on their commitments.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Lead and manage the company’s full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, purchasing, and renewal management.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals, cost‑savings targets, and operational needs.
- Monitor spend across categories, identify savings opportunities, and implement controls to optimize budget utilization.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Negotiate pricing, terms, service levels, and renewals to ensure the company consistently receives best‑in‑class value.
- Manage vendor relationships with a balance of professionalism and firm accountability—ensuring vendors meet all commitments, SLAs, and performance metrics.
- Hold vendors responsible for results, timelines, and contract adherence, escalating concerns proactively and confidently as needed.
- Conduct periodic vendor reviews and maintain current, accurate, and compliant contract documentation.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, Technology, and People teams to understand supply needs and ensure effective procurement support.
- Serve as an internal consultant, guiding stakeholders on procurement processes, cost‑effective alternatives, and contract risk considerations.
- Act as a strong internal partner—collaborative and approachable with team members, while acting as a vigilant protector of company interests in external negotiations.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Evaluate vendor risk, financial stability, and contract exposure; implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, legal standards, and best‑practice procurement policies.
- Create and maintain procurement documentation, SOPs, and reporting dashboards.
Position Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or vendor management; multi‑location or multi‑vendor environment preferred.
- Proven track record of strong negotiation, cost savings, and vendor accountability.
- Ability to balance assertiveness with diplomacy—confident pushing back, escalating, and holding firm when needed.
- Excellent analytical and financial acumen, with experience monitoring spend patterns and identifying savings opportunities.
- Strong communication, relationship‑building, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- High degree of integrity, skepticism in vendor evaluation, and commitment to protecting company interests.
